(from SOS4Students’ Coach Vivian)

Now that summer is finally here, teens have more time to pursue their passions. Why not encourage your student go to your nearest library and explore the shelves?

Reading for fun is a great summer activity and can cultivate a love of literature that will last a lifetime.

Use the long summer nights to dive into different genres than they might otherwise read. Always reading fiction? Suggest they try a biography of someone they admire.

Whether they pick up a graphic novel or grapple with a Greek epic, they’re sure to find new favorites, discover exciting new authors, escape with compelling characters, and disappear into new worlds.

Don’t know what to read? Goodreads.com is a great website to gain inspiration and learn about different genres, books, and authors.
